The Friends of Brackenfield School (FOBS) are a committee of parents and friends of the School who organise events and work to raise funds throughout the year. These are largely social events and fun activities for both parents and pupils, eg Bonfire Night, Easter Egg Hunt etc. All money raised is used to fund projects that benefit children in the School. What has FOBS done this year? In November FOBS continue to hold their Bonfire Night celebration on the sports field. A wonderful range of guys are produced for the night, and pumpkins are carved, decorated and used to light the route to the field. In December the parents provide something special for the children throughout the school. Easter saw the infamous bunny who left a trail of hidden eggs. In 2008 we saw the introduction of Bags 2 School which is a great fundraiser so don't throw away any old clothes just yet. In April FOBS held a quiz night with fish & chip supper which was a lovely evening with light hearted banter between teams. The final event of the school year is the Summer Fair in June. Particularly popular attractions this year were the Leeds Penalty Shoot Out, and Bungee trampolining. The weather wasn't too good to us this year but the money raised will go towards a traverse wall for the playground. |
