The curriculum at Brackenfield is broad and balanced. It is delivered by our professional staff in well-equipped classrooms.

We deliver the full range of National Curriculum subjects in a disciplined and supportive environment. We have high expectations for our students and prepare them for their next schools through practice papers and a range of activities that increase independence and leadership.

The academic curriculum is divided into three main levels:

Early Years   Age 2–5

Pre-Prep       Age 5–7

Prep              Age 7–11

Each child enjoys lessons in Maths, English and Science as well as opportunities for French, Music, Drama, PSHCE, Art, Design Technology and Sport within the normal teaching timetable.

As an independent school with no attachment to a specific senior school, we are able to help parents select the most appropriate school for their children’s continued education.

Our well-motivated pupils consistently achieve standards beyond national norms. High levels of application and good behaviour, both inside and outside the classroom, are also factors which contribute to the academic success of children at Brackenfield.

Progress is carefully monitored, and we take a pride in assisting both less able and gifted pupils to progress to the best of their ability.
